Ali Khan Rawalpindi	Dear Sir, I hope u wont mind the ranking but it has a reason: your column dated 9-06-2010 in daily jang regarding the mishandling of passengers at Pakistani airports which is much appreciated. However it leaked information especially regarding Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) which you called as drug enforcement force. I myself am serving in Anti Narcotics Force and I would like to highlight some facts regarding the force. a. ANF is a premier drug law enforcement agency in the country and has mandate to have check points at all entry exit points for interdiction of drugs. b. ANF checking counter always comes first before the customs at the airport departure. c. ANF has its own cadre staff (as police officers) however half of the force and command is consisted of Army Personals on deputation and here the problems starts. Army staff doesn’t even have the basic knowledge of policing rather dealing at international airports. d. most of the in charges at ANF check points at airports are Army personals who wear their own Army Uniform and don’t have the required expertise and now u can better understand that why they have communication and attitude problem. Sir, these are few facts which I highlighted. Sir, your observation is right and appreciated. Such mishandling and unnecessary checks cause irritation to the passengers at airports, however I was only concerned that a columnist of your caliber lacked knowledge about ANF like many other people in the country and it would be appreciated a lot if you could also highlight problems of ANF staff who are at their worst in terms of salaries, infrastructure and welfare etc among other sister law enforcement agencies, police etc. Hope u will find this little info in your interest. But I was cried a lot after read your article, and I want to say sorry to you on my thoughts, also I like to pay my gratitude because you took over Afia's case, please keep writing about her.
